Obtaining a Private Pilot's
Licence requires everyone to complete a very comprehensive and detailed
course, but it's tailored to suit your time requirements. With 25 to 30
hours of flying to do in total, most of our students book one or two
lessons a week and finish the course over a period of about six months...
This way it doesn't completely take over the whole of your life!
Having said that, we do cater for those who have busy schedules and need
to complete the course quickly so if you have the stamina then we are
well able to complete the requirements on an intensive course within
about 4 weeks given some reasonable weather.
With detailed ground briefings and expert tuition, it usually takes us
about 15 to 18 hours to get the average student to solo stage and from
then on it's plain sailing through to obtaining the licence.
Just so that students have the chance to make up their minds if they
really do want to complete the course, we always start everyone off with
our 12-hour Introductory Course. Then there's no great pressure in
feeling that just because you've started, you've got to finish. This
really is an excellent way to be introduced to learning to fly.
And by the way, if you're reading this in the autumn, don't assume that
it would be better to leave it until springtime. We operate 363 days of
the year and we have also always wonderful flying during the winter
months.
You won't be cold because the C42 has a luxuriously heated cockpit and
what could be a more wonderful experience than floating above a carpet
of glistening snow on a sharp frosty sunny day?
JUST DO IT!
Come and have a go. Nowhere will you find a sport that offers so many
different horizons and so many different challenges. You'll never tire
of flying and it will bring you and your family or the friends you share
it with, many long hours of cherished memories.
